Introduction
Moroj Adil is the first Saudi woman to race a bicycle professionally. She joined a cycling group in Jeddah in 2022 without a bike and without knowing how to ride. Two years later she signed a professional contract and moved to Europe for a full racing season.
Career
Two years from a borrowed bike to a contract
The compressed timeline is the point. Most professional cyclists spend a decade in junior and under twenty three racing before they are paid to ride. Moroj covered that ground in two seasons, on terrain that ranges from four hundred kilometre desert stage races to European road calendars.
